Kirk Olinger, PMP

 

Kirk is passionate about project management and has recently been active in the local PMI-SWVA chapter assisting with the 2011 Project Management Symposium. Kirk has a varied and diversified background: He has experience as a greens-keeper, public address announcer, touring musician, translator, programmer, systems developer, manager, clinical researcher and now a PMP.  
Kirk has been employed by Carilion Clinic since 1995 and has been the lead project manager on many key clinical and business information systems.  Born and raised in New Market, Virginia, his first passion was for music and performance.   He earned a BS in Music Education from Shenandoah University in 1988. He moved to Germany and in 1992 he earned a German “BS” in Computer Science and Economics from the HandwerksKammer Oberfranken.  Kirk moved back to the US in 1995. In 2000 he received his MBA from Radford University. He has been a PMP since December of 2008.

Jay Benigno

Jay Benigno has been involved in Project Management in one form or another since high school. In his current role as a Senior Logistics Engineer at Elizabeth Arden, he leads large productivity enhancement projects for this well-known consumer products and cosmetics brand company. He has 13+ years’ of “official” PM experience managing a variety of productivity and cost-saving projects for major corporations. Many of his recent undertakings include Global Distribution Network Optimization projects involving EA’s international affiliates . He earned his B.S. in Management from University of Maryland and his PMP in 2010.

Heather Robertson, PMP

Heather Robertson has been a member of PMI since 2010.   She served as Director At Large (DAL) in 2011 and Vice President of Professional Development in 2012 for the PMI-SWVA chapter.  During this time she assisted with multiple activities and led the 2012 PMI SWVA Learning, Leading and Living Project Management Symposium.  Her time as DAL and VP of Professional Development inspires her to continuing growing the PMI-SWVA chapter.   Heather has more than 10 years combined experience in business analysis, project management, and information technology.  She has a wide variety of experience working on projects of varying scope and budget.  She is currently a Project Manager for the Commercial and Retail Systems Development team at Advance Auto Parts.  She enjoys challenges and is committed to advancing the practice and profession of Project Management. Her goals are to create opportunities for enhanced learning, professional development, and networking for our chapter members. Heather obtained her Project Management Professional (PMP) certification in 2010.

Darryl Agee, PMP Darryl Agee is currently a project manager for Advance Auto Parts, working on projects and technology in Advance’s Store Systems Development group.  His project management experience began with a seven year Air Force career as a commissioned officer, working on aircraft simulators and training systems.  He then spent five years in Colorado working for the City of Aurora (a suburb of Denver) in city government.  He and his family returned to Roanoke in 1998, where he worked for Aramark (Crest Uniforms) and Carilion Clinic in systems analysis, application analysts and project management positions.  He was with Carilion for over three years working on the implementation of an electronic medical record (EPIC) project and recently returned to Advance Auto Parts where he is working on implementing technology related to store operational assessment and communications.  Darryl became a PMP in January of 2006 and holds an MBA from Auburn University at Montgomery, MS in Computer Info Systems from the University of Phoenix, and BA in English from the Virginia Military Institute.  His free time is currently spent coaching his three daughters in softball, basketball and soccer.  He also teaches at Virginia Western Community College, teaching the PMP Prep course for students planning to take their PMP credentialing exam.  He and his family of a wife, three daughters, three dogs and a cat live on lovely Bent Mountain.

Krystal Eckles

Krystal Eckles started her involvement with PMI in 2012.  During her first year she was a part of the Professional Development team which planned and executed the 2012 PMI SWVA Learning, Leading and Living Project Management Symposium.  Krystal has more than 5 years’ combined experience in Information Technology, Training, Project Management, and Business Analysis.  She has a wide range of experience working on projects from a provider and customer perspective. Krystal’s currently works as a Senior Systems Support and Operations Trainer for Advance Auto Parts.  She enjoys learning and expanding her knowledge and looks forward to being a part of the team brining enhanced learning and professional development to the Southwest region. She is working towards earning her Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.

Jon Nedell, PMP

Jon Nedell is a Senior Project Manager for harris Corporation in Lynchburg, Virginia.  He is a high-performing, results-driven project/program manager with a proven track record of successfully managing multiple projects and project teams simultaneously to deliver innovative, cost-effective solutions and met/exceed requirements.  Jon spent many years in a variety of roles in both domestic and international markets with IBM and has strong experience and in-depth, cross functional business knowledge across virtually every functional area of the organization; such as, supply chain management, international customer operations, new product development, sales support, product marketing and strategic planning.
He is PMP certified and received his MBA from Wake Forest University in their Executive Program, was an APICS Certified Supply Chain Professional as well as a board certified ISO auditor and have IBM management experience and training.  Jon has a wife of 20 years; a 15-year old son and an 8.5 year-old Airedale terrier. He enjoys church, family, golf, tennis and the beach. He is also an active member in Toastmasters International in the Lynchburg, VA club.

Chris Bass, PMP

Chris Bass has been a member of PMI since 2010.   He most recently served as a member of the Professional Development committee helping to plan and execute the 2012 PMI SWVA Learning, Leading and Living Project Management Symposium.   Chris has more than 15 years combined experience in project management, business analysis, software development, and consulting.  He has a strong background in complex system development, leading several multi-million dollar initiatives while managing multiple programs for a local Fortune 500 company.  He is currently a Sr. IT Project Manager for the Commercial and Retail Systems Development team at Advance Auto Parts.  Chris obtained his Project Management Professional (PMP) certification in 2010.

VP-Technology 2013-2014 Becky Fleitz, PMP Becky is an accomplished IT professional with senior level Project Management experience implementing all life cycle phase of major technology solutions. She has over 10 years of experience in project management, systems and business analysis in the retail and healthcare industries.  She is currently a Sr. IT Project Manager for the Supply Chain Systems Development team at Advance Auto Parts where she is managing large cross-departmental projects. She also applies varying aspects of project management in her volunteer roles for her sorority, Alpha Phi International Fraternity.  Becky has been a member of PMI and the SWVA chapter since 2011. She obtained her Project Management Professional (PMP) certification in April of that same year. She has participated in several volunteer and professional activities with the chapter which has fueled an interest in becoming a PMI board member, including the SWVA PMI Symposium and PMI Habitat for Humanity build.

Vicki Kibbe, PMP

Vicki Kibbe has a strong background in Information Technology and Project Management. She is currently employed at Advance Auto Parts where she is serving a dual role of IT Communication Infrastructure Manager and Project Manager.  She is a seasoned project manager, earning her PMP in 2006. She also holds her certification in ITIL (IT Infrastructure Library) since 2010. Vicki is a high-performing, results-driven leader with a proven track record of successfully leading multiple projects and teams simultaneously to deliver innovative and cost-effective solutions in challenging situations. She spent many years in a variety of roles in both domestic and international markets and has strong experience and in-depth, cross functional business knowledge across virtually every functional area of the organization such as; merchandising, retail pricing, supply chain technology, call center solutions, VOIP, and Mobility Management. Her excellent strategic and tactical skills, enables her to solve complex problems while building confidence and trust in others. She motivates teams to perform at a high level of consistency delivering on project expectations and driving business results. Vicki is committed to advancing the practice and the profession of Project Management, focusing on chapter member needs, creating opportunities for learning, networking, and professional development.

Marlene Wray, PMP

 

 Marlene Wray is a Project Manager in the IT Department at ACE Private Risk Services. Her technical background spans over 15 years and she has more than 8 years project leadership experience. Marlene has been a member of the local SWVA chapter since 2010 and obtained her PMP in August of the same year.  In 2011 Marlene volunteered on the Fall Symposium committee which inspired her to learn more about the chapter.  In 2012 as a Director at Large on the board she continued to learn the inner workings of the chapter and volunteered her time in the planning and execution of the most recent symposium at Hollins University.  Marlene lives in Boones Mill with her husband Michael and a golden retriever named Sadie. She has two grown daughters, a son-in-law, and a granddaughter she adores.

Avi Usgaonkar, PMP

Avi is currently employed by Harris Corporation, a premier provider of Land Mobile Radio systems for Law Enforcement and Public Safety. The Lynchburg location of Harris Corporation employs over 600 persons with an emphasis on product design & development, and system integration & testing.  Avi holds a Masters degree in Business Administration (Finance) from Virginia Tech and a Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Bombay, India. He has over 20 years experience in project management and implementation of infrastructural engineering projects.  Avi is multilingual and has over 10 years’ experience managing projects in an international environment. He has been a PMI member since December 2006 and earned his PMP certification in May 2009. Avi, his wife Veena and daughter Pooja have resided in Lynchburg since 1995.

Paige Kanode

Paige Kanode is a new member of PMI. She is currently a business analyst for the commercial and retail systems (development team) at Advance Auto Parts.  She is excited to be joining the PMI team and is excited to bring a new member perspective to the team. She has more than 10 years’ experience in IT, specifically around web delivery. She is currently pursuing her PMP.
