The play “Jimmie Rodgers” reviews the life and times of Jimmie Rodgers and his influence on several generations of music. Step into the life of "The Singing Brakeman" who influenced stars from Bob Dylan and B.B. King to Elvis Presley and Hank Williams. Created by the author of Keep on the Sunny Side and Man of Constant Sorrow, this southern musical experience follows the American story of loves, struggles, train rides, tent shows, and heartaches that changed the face of music forever. Features the hit songs "Frankie and Johnnie," "Blue Yodel (T for Texas)," "In the Jailhouse Now" and "Sleep, Baby, Sleep." Jimmie Rodgers (James Charles Rodgers) is considered the father of country music and was the first inductee to the Country Music Hall of Fame in 1961.
