October 2009 Chapter Meeting

Topic: Strategic Planning for our Chapter Our PMI-SWVA chapter's goal is to provide real value for our members. While we strive to continually elicit feedback and new ideas, once a year we try to set up a forum for open discussion on the direction and goals of the chapter. This will be a group discussion. The speaker will not be presenting a formal presentation, but providing some guidelines for how to conduct strategic planning and serve as a facilitator. Some topics include: Meetings: Topics, location and logistics, and frequency Seminar: Topics and speakers, location and frequency Community involvement: student scholarships, others? Others?

About our Speaker(s): Darryl Agee, PMP and PMI-SWVA Chapter President Darryl Agee's project management experience began with a seven year Air Force career working on aircraft simulators and training systems. He then spent five years in Colorado working for the City of Aurora (a suburb of Denver) in city government. He and his family returned to Roanoke in 1998. Darryl became a PMP in January of 2006 and holds an MBA from Auburn University at Montgomery, MS in Computer Info Systems from the University of Phoenix, and BA in English from the Virginia Military Institute.
Logistics: Monthly meeting will be held at the Carilion TSG Building, 451 Kimball Ave, Roanoke. The meeting begins at 6:30p with a light dinner and networking. Chapter business meeting begins at 6:45p and the program starts at 7:00p and ends at 8:00p. Lynchburg Remote Telecast: will be held at Genworth Financial, 700 Main St, Lynchburg Va 24504.
