Topic: Negotiations 101: When to Hold ‘Em and When to Fold ‘Em

Negotiations become more complex with larger numbers of issues, dollars and/or negotiators. And case complexity normally equates to difficulty in arriving at the deal you want. Complex or not, the basics of negotiation remain the same. Learn 7 tips from successful negotiators.

To be an effective project manager negotiation skills are a new core competence, not a just a skill you bring out for a special occasion. There are different levels of negotiator maturity. We will discuss the 3 Ds of negotiator maturity, where your skills are and how to improve them.

Monthly meeting will be held in the Brickyard Training Room at the Advance Auto Parts Store Support Center, 5008 Airport Road, Roanoke, VA 24012.

The meeting begins at 6:00 PM with a light dinner and networking. Chapter business meeting begins at 6:15 PM and the program starts at 6:30 PM and ends at 7:30 PM.

About our Speaker:

Sue Stengel, PMP
Sue Stengel is a PMP who has spent her career(s) negotiating. She began negotiating professionally while still in college at Colorado State University where she earned a B.S. and a MBA. Sue’s first career was in Purchasing during which time she earned designation as a Certified Purchasing Manager from the Institute of Supply Management. She has been a Project Manager for most of the last 17 years and earned a PMP in 2009.
