May 2010 Chapter Meeting

Topic: Managing Virtual Teams and those new to Technology
Speakers: Brian Lanham, MCP, MCTS and Chris Atienza
Event Date: Tuesday, May 11th, 2010 at 6:00pm

Managing software development teams can be a complicated task. Managing virtual teams in which members all have different work hours, varying commitments to the project, and who have not melded as a team only makes matters worse. This presentation will discuss the hurdles associated with managing such teams. It will also cover additional complications introduced when some or all team members are subcontractors with other full- or part-time commitments.

Time permits, the talk will move into additional issues when working with such teams in an equally difficult environment - that of building software for a client who has never executed a technology project.
