Elections for 2013-2014 Board

Nominations are OPEN! Effective Monday, Oct. 1st
Voting for nominees begin Saturday, Nov. 3rd and ends Tuesday, Nov. 13th.


We are now accepting nominations for the 2013-2014 Board.  The open positions are listed below with a brief description of the responsibilities.   All positions are 2 years unless otherwise noted. 

Board Position  Responsibilities

President-Elect (3-years)

Serves as the primary backup for the Chapter President, and shall be mentored by the President to ensure seamless transition of chapter leadership.  Serves 1 year as Elect, 1 year as Chapter President, and 1 year as Past President.

VP Marketing Is responsible for communicating PMI-SWVA announcements, news, and events to members and prospective members.
VP Membership Primarily responsible for developing and maintaining a Chapter membership plan that assures continued growth, maintains the official attendance record for chapter meetings and seminars.
VP Programs Identifies and maintains a pipeline of topics and speakers for the monthly chapter meetings
VP Technology Shall serve as Webmaster and be responsible for advising the Board on communication and collaboration tools to help manage the Chapter’s business.

Director at Large positions are available. This is a non-voting position which is appointed to the Board by the Chapter President. This is a "floating" position and serves as a stand-by committee member for the Vice Presidents. This is a good way to “get your feet wet” and learn more about the Board.

WIFM?  All Board members earn 10 PDUs per year.   Serving on the Board provides an opportunity to challenge yourself and expand your skill set.  You also meet other project management professionals in the area, which increases your personal network.  

What's the commitment?  All Board members are required to attend the monthly board meeting, and help deliver the programming and special events offered throughout the year.   Board members typically work an average 10-15hrs/week.
