Meet Susan Stengel...

  • I believe that a team of experienced professionals is more powerful than an individual contributor.
  • I believe that professionals must keep their knowledge fresh to best serve their customers.
  • I believe in the power of education and that it’s not just about how many degrees or certificates you have on your wall.

For those reasons I took on the Board’s position of Vice President of Programs for the PMI Southwest Virginia chapter. Being a board member gives me the opportunity to work outside my box with people I’ve never worked with before. After each election the Board changes, a little or a lot, and we test our team building skills again.

Attending monthly meetings pushes us, as Stephen Covey puts it, to sharpen our saws. I love to learn new things. I’d pursue another college degree if the price wasn’t so high (personal and financial). Attending PMI chapter meetings is a very cost effective way to satisfy that desire, keep my knowledge fresh and sharpen my saw.
